Finca Kobo is located in the Palo Seco community, on the Osa Peninsula, just 20 minutes from Puerto Jiménez. It is an organic farm mainly dedicated to the cultivation of cocoa but many other tropical fruits are also cultivated. The founder Alex Retana, being a person deeply committed to the protection of the environment, has implemented many good practices so that his farm is not only a plantation but also a good habitat for the species that want to live there. Alex tells the story that the Capuchin monkeys begin to eat the cocoa and as a solution he planted many fruit trees, now the monkeys have so much to eat that they stopped eating the cocoa. Also to prevent the spread of disease Alex has planted many species together so that there is genetic variability and thus prevent disease from spreading.
The tour consists of a tour of the farm knowing and tasting different types of tropical fruits produced entirely in a natural way. After a short tour you reach the cocoa plantation where the history of the origin of the cocoa and about the production is explained, from there you go to see the process of drying, grinding and ending with a delicious tasting of liquid cocoa with fruit tropical farm.
The trails are flat, easy to walk and relatively short. The farm facilities are very comfortable and clean.
