All about the Piedras Blancas National Park Tour.

Piedras Blancas National Park was created with the purpose of protecting the last Tropical rainforest located in the Golfito area and the Río Esquinas basin. This area was previously part of the Corcovado National Park, but due to its size and geographic distribution was decided to separate it to provide it with better protection by the National Park System.

This park is little known and recently the tourist visitation has been increasing, it has some trails that due to their geography are a bit difficult to walk and are only recommended for adventurers in good physical condition.

One of the main attractions is a huge and ancient Ceibo tree which names the trail. During the tour you can see birds, monkeys, sloths and an amazing vegetation typical of tropical rainforests.

    1. Itinerary Activities

The meeting point is at your hotel in Golfito, there a certified guide will pick you up with a private transport to take you to the town of Ureña, once there begins the tour through secondary forest (cleared forest that regenerated over time) and crossings of rivers for an hour and a half until you reach the Piedras Blancas National Park, within the park you will walk trails in search of fauna. The roads from Golfito to Ureña are paved which allows access to the place in any vehicle, but if you want to get directly to the park you have to go by 4×4 car, For greater safety we recommend traveling on public or private transport because the park does not offer parking service..

Once you arrive at the station you will have time to use the bathroom, the park’s trails are steep and slippery so a good physical condition is recommended, from the Llano Bonito Station to the beach there are several ups and downs that make the hike difficult. Once at the beach you will take the boat that will take you back to Golfito.

It has a duration of 7 hours.

Of course, you should only bring with you the store and the other necessary accessories.

We recommend about 3 liters of water.

Recommended for people who are in good physical condition.
