All about the Corcovado One Day Tour La Leona🇺🇸.

Corcovado National Park is one of the largest in Costa Rica, it houses the best population of scarlet macaws, more than 300 species of birds, 5 species of cats, 2 species of sloths, 4 species of monkeys, both species of Peccaries, as well as several endemic species of birds. and plants. It was created in 1975 and since then hunting was banned, for that reason the animals are not afraid and let tourists get closer without having to run away. The park has 6 ranger stations of which 4 are open to tourists.

    1. Itinerary Activities

The meeting point is the Monar bakery, where you will meet the guide and the transport that will take you to Carate, you will have 15 minutes of time to buy breakfast and packed lunch. The journey to Carate lasts an hour and a half with road stops if necessary.

From Carate you will walk 3 kilometers to reach the park, there you will take a 10-minute break to sign the visitor’s book and use the bathroom, you can also refill the water bottles. Then you will walk inside the park as far as the guide deems necessary and return to Carate at around 3 pm to be back in Puerto Jiménez at 4:30 pm.

Of course, but it must be 4×4 and it is not advisable in rainy season

In the parking area, you only have to pay $ 5 per day.

If it is possible but due to the distance it is very tiring for children and parents, for children we recommend Matapalo which is more fun for them.
