      Route- Carate-Sirena-Jiménez

      MEETING POINT: Monar Bakery
      MEETING TIME: 05:00 am

The guide will meet you at Monar Bakery to take the transport together to Carate. You will have 15 minutes to have breakfast and drink something. I highly recommend buying snacks or lunch to take with you on the hike.

The drive to Carate lasts approximately an hour and a half, with some stops on the way to see wildlife! Once in Carate, you will walk an hour until you get to La Leona Station; there you will have 10 minutes to sign the visitor’s book, use the toilets, refill the water bottles and then start the hike to Sirena.

The is 20Km to Sirena station, it will take about 7-9 hours on a flat trail parallel to the beach. The pace of the hike will depend on the tides, since you have to cross beaches and rivers.

Once in the station you will rest for a while, have dinner, and then go to sleep.

On the second day, you’ll wake up early to explore other interesting and different internal routes in the areas most visited by animals. Breakfast is at 6:00am, lunch starts at 11:30am and dinner will be at 6:00pm.

On the last day, you will explore any of the remaining trails; back track to search for animals on the trail or you can just relax on the beach; then around 11:30am you will return to the station to get your luggage and start heading to the beach to take the boat at 12:30pm to go back to Puerto Jiménez arriving at around 2:00pm.
