“No one can show you Corcovado better than Nito : The Man !!”
A trip to Corcovado and a few nights at La Sirena ranger station should be in everyone’s bucket list but it is not an easy place to visit. The booking system is extremely cumbersome and you have no chance of securing a reservation ( which opens only a month before ) without a local agency.
After reading hundreds of reviews I contacted several local agents including Surcos tours, Osa wild, Osa Aventura, Cabinas Tropicales etc. We were a party of four : 2 adults and 2 kids. Hiking into Corcovado was not an option and I wanted to fly in and fly out from Puerto Jimenez with 2 nights stay at la Sirena.
Passioned by nature and wildlife, we decided to spend holidays in Costa Rica in August 2016. To help us realising our dream we contacted Surcos Tour. We were reading the reviews about them and about a guide called Nito. We took a risk to trust these reviews and contacted Surcos. Diana was very helpful since the beginning and she managed to find a place for us in Corcovado in very tiny deadline. Thanks to her we could take 3 days hiking in Corcovado with Nito as a guide.Veronika S
“One of the best adventures of our life; birders and photographers: ask for guide Javier Mendoza!!”
We had an amazing 3 days in Corcovado NP. The start of the trip was rather chaotic; we knew only a few hours in advance that the kitchen in La Sirena was out of order. So we had to buy our food 10 min before closing time of the stores. The ‘Pura Vida’-style gave us a lot of stress on these moments. Because of that the payment was also a big mess; we had to arrange all of that in the park during the walk, which was not ideal and relaxing for both the guide and us. Organisation wise, this part was too chaotic for us.slr645
We did a 3 days hiking tour in Corcobardo national park. It was amazing. very luckly we also saw pumas-hunting. Just we missed tapir, even they were always so closed to us. We saw so many tracks of them and I even stept on the skeleton of a tapir but I missed a live one. First time, I saw red macaws fly free on the sky, tucans, etc. so many butiful remerbers…sunkk16
